Following a string of poor results Motsepe Foundation Championship side Venda Football Academy has suspended their head coach Simo Dladla.
The suspension comes after VFA lost 3-1 to Baroka in a league game, the Limpopo derby on Saturday, 18 February 2023 at the Global Stadium in Lebowakgomo.
Former Black Leopards and Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila head coach Joel Masutha has been appointed interim coach with former Bafana Bafana midfielder Macbeth Sibaya carrying on as second assistant and Rowan Hendricks as the first.
Dladla joined the Thohoyandou outfit in October last year. He took over the coaching reigns from newly appointed Mamelodi Sundowns set-piece coach Michael Loftman.
The former Uthongathi head coach was previously at Dstv Premiership side Swallows last season where he served as assistant coach to Brandon Truter. He also had a brief spell as caretaker coach when Truter was put on special leave. But it was a disappointing stint and he was sidelined after that when Truter was sacked.
The Limpopo based outfit are on position 14th with 18 points from 18 matches on the Motsepe Foundation Championship log standings, their next game is against La Masia at Thohoyandou Stadium on Wednesday 22 February 2023 kick-off is at 15:30.
