Arthur Zwane Will Succeed at Chiefs, says Muhsin Ertugral

Former Kaizer Chiefs coach Muhsin Ertugral has backed under-pressure coach Arthur Zwane to turn the DStv Premiership club’s fortunes around and succeed after what can be described as a slow start to the season.

“10111” as he is affectionately known, has previously served as the interim coach on a temporary basis, before he officially took the head coach reins after the departure of Stuart Baxter.

The former star player has come under increasing pressure following the team’s inconsistency, with Amakhosi failing to win the MTN8 and Black Label Cup under his leadership.

Chiefs, who are seven points behind league leaders Mamelodi Sundowns, haven’t won any major trophy in the past seven years, but the Turkish mentor believes Zwane can turn things around.

“Zwane has a great football mind, and he’s an honest person. A fantastic player in his playing time and a perfectionist as a coach,” Ertugral who is currently in Qatar told ThisIsFootball.Africa.

“He has big challenges in front of him. No matter what anyone tells him from far, the reality is entirely different when it comes to the day-to-day business of football. But he will do well, he’s an incredible coach.

“My advice to him is to always go his way on how he feels. I would encourage him to make the hard decisions, even if it is  unpleasant. Arthur will influence the Chiefs DNA in the team. I hope the demand and reality will go his way” were Ertugral’s parting words to Zwane.
