Aubameyang Already Planning Move Away from Chelsea

Chelsea striker Pierre – Emerick Aubameyang

Chelsea striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is reportedly already planning a move away from the Blues, despite just completing his transfer to West London from Barcelona on deadline day.

Aubameyang moved to Stamford Bridge in an attempt to fix Chelsea’s attacking problems. Former Blues boss Thomas Tuchel personally pursued the Gabonese International having previously worked with him at Borussia Dortmund, where the pair enjoyed a good relationship.

However, Tuchel’s departure left many, evidently including Aubameyang, wondering whether the former Arsenal captain still had a future in West London. And it seems the answer is no, as French outlet Foot Mercato reported that Auba is already planning a move to PSG next summer, with the Ligue 1 champions also keen on the move.

Aubameyang is once again being pursued by a former manager, having worked with current PSG boss Christophe Galtier at Saint-Etienne. The Parisian side are reportedly so interested in contracting the striker that they’ve already made contact with the player, trying to sound out how likely a switch is.

New Chelsea boss Graham Potter is enjoying a fine start to life at the helm of the Club. The former Brighton coach is currently unbeaten in his first four games in charge, winning three of them.

Potter denied any rumours of Aubameyang being exiled from the squad since he was a signing driven by Thomas Tuchel. The Blues boss went on to express his excitement about working with the player.

“I’m looking forward to working with him [Aubameyang], I’ve enjoyed working with him in the brief time we’ve been together,” said Potter in a recent press conference. “I can see he’s a good guy, focused, wants to do well, wants to play, wants to score. So I’m really enjoying it.

“He’s got nothing to prove to me or anything negative in that regard. His career is his career, I have huge respect for that.

“My job now is to help him enjoy his football and be a part of what we’re trying to do here. He’s acted as a top professional, a top person, so I’m really looking forward to working with him.”

Aubameyang will face another one of his former clubs AC Milan in the UEFA Champions League on Tuesday as both clubs are set to battle it out to ensure Round of 16 qualification.
