Chelsea Agree Terms for Bundesliga Superstar

Chelsea have reportedly agreed personal terms for a Bundesliga superstar ahead of a proposed move in 2023, after rumours emerged in Germany of the player already having completed a secret medical for The Blues.

RB Leipzig superstar Christopher Nkunku has reportedly agreed terms to join Chelsea in the summer of 2023, with Bundesliga transfer expert Christian Falk revealing that the player has already undergone a secret medical examination ahead of the Frenchman’s proposed move to Stamford Bridge.

The reports were then shortly confirmed by Matt Law of The Daily Telegraph.

Nkunku had just extended his contract with RB Leipzig in June off the back of a stellar campaign with the German side, netting an astonishing 35 goals and 20 assists in 52 appearances across all competitions.

The 24-year-old former PSG academy graduate put pen to paper on a new deal amid interest from Europe’s elite, including Chelsea, Real Madrid, Arsenal, and Liverpool. However, Nkunku’s new deal contains a reported €60-€65million release clause, valid from summer 2023.

It seems Chelsea has identified the opportunity to put a deal in place early on for Nkunku, whose suitors would’ve only intensified their interest nearer the end of the season.

The Blues must have also considered that Nkunku’s list of admirers could grow after a strong performance at the World Cup, where he will be called upon to impact games off the bench majority of the time.

Chelsea seems to have continued their spending splurge not long following the close of the transfer window, after spending nearly £300million in the summer.
