Kaizer Chiefs are on a mission to make it two in a row when they play against TS Galaxy today, Sunday 5th of February. Chiefs have been having a difficult spell since the start of the year; however, Chiefs have managed to pick up a win against Royal AM and Chiefs defender Edmilson Dove is confident that the Soweto giants will continue where they left off and go into the game with a winning mentality.
“For us, as Kaizer Chiefs, when we step onto the field, we intend to win every game no matter which opponent we are facing This is going to be one of those games that we are going out to win. We know it will be a difficult match, but we have been preparing very well and have assimilated all the information the coach has given us regarding TS Galaxy. So, we are aiming to get there and get maximum points,” he told the Chiefs official website.
The Chiefs defender was hindered by an injury that has raised questions about his availability for the game against TS Galaxy, however, the former Cape Town City defender feels ready for the game.
“I’m feeling good, pumped as always, getting ready for the next game. Prior to the game, I suffered a fractured finger, so I had to strap it up to give it some support. But now I have gone for surgery, which went well. There is nothing that will keep me off the field, so I am hoping to be there on Sunday,” he said.
Kaizer Chiefs go into this game on the back foot and will aim to improve their record against the Mpumalanga-based side. Kaizer Chiefs and TS Galaxy have played 7 games so far, TS Galaxy has won 2 games, and the Soweto giants have won once and have drawn 4 times.
The Amakhosi side will be highly motivated going into this clash, if the Soweto giants win, they will overtake their Soweto rivals Pirates in the league table. Chiefs are currently on 27 points and a win will take them to 30 points to 4th position, trailing Richards Bay by a point. Richards Bay currently occupy 3rd position.
