In a last ditch attempt to strengthen their team Kaizer Chiefs are keen to pull off a daring raid on Stellenbosch FC.
Bare in mind that Chiefs have a good working relationship with Stellies and have completed a number of deals with them in the past.
Most recently Ashley Du Preez made the move from Stellenbosch to Naturena.
This time Chiefs have targeted and enquired about Stellenbosch’s star player Junior Mendieta and midfielder Sibongiseni Mthethwa.
The 28 year old midfielder Mthethwa has played 19 games this season, with no goals and one assist, is seen as someone who would be able to control things in the middle of the park in the Yusaf Maart position.

Mendieta who is 29 years old plays as a wide left wing/midfielder and has been Stelllies star man this season and he would bring much needed width, pace and football brain to Chiefs if a deal materialized.
The Argentinian has played 17 matches, scored 5 goals and has assisted in four goals. Excellent stats for a wide player. There is no doubt that both players would bring much needed experience to Chiefs and Mendieta in particular would bring that star quality.
However the chances of Stellenbosch FC allow this move to go over the line seem extremely slim. Chiefs would have to brandish a big carrot to make this happen. Big cash or cash and players would be the only possibility of this deal happening and even then it could be football suicide for Stellies if it does.
