Chippa deny Zuko Mdunyelwa’s Stellies Move!

Chippa United deny Zuko Mdunyelwa pre-contract reports with Stellenbosch

Chilli Boy Head Coach Morgan Mammila has denied that Zuko Mdunyelwa is leaving them.

“The player is going nowhere and has a year left with them so he will remain with them “, Morgan Mammila told ThisIsFootball.Africa.

Mammila claimed that the signing central defender Thabo Mokhele, isn’t to fill the void left by Mdunyelwa. He said that it has to do with Chippa wanting to bolster their squad. He promised that the 23-year-old Mdunyelwa would still be part of Chippa United come the new season.

The 21-year-old versatile full back started out at Cape Town City’s Diski team, eventually gained promotion to the first team, but due to limited game time he went out on loan to now defunct Cape Umoya United.

Since his move to Chippa United he has become an influential individual, racking up 16 appearances, but has reportedly signed a two-year contract with Stellies, starting at the beginning of next season.

“The reports are not true about Zuko, he still has a contract with Chippa,” said another close source to the club.

His rise in the Eastern Cape has seen him get call ups for the national under 23 team as well as the Bafana Bafana squad, where he did duty at the COSAFA Cup. Chippa United’s next game is against Polokwane City in the Nedbank Cup, next Tuesday.

“We can’t confirm or deny the reports, until we know for sure what is happening,” said a  Stellenbosch FC official this website. That statement in itself tells a story.
