Marumo Gallants has confirmed that they have placed head coach Dan Malesela and Technical Director Harris Choeu on special leave after conjuring a new interim technical team to tackle their current crisis of winning two games within 10 matches under Coach Dance.
As previously reported Malesela’s job was on the line, after the Gallants top brass had become impatient given the recent negative run of results.
In his 18 games in charge he has leaves the club in position number 16, five points away from the potential safe zone in the league where the table changes constantly.
Chairman Abram Sello has been swift in immediately making changes with Dylan Kerr being brought in on a ‘consultancy basis while assistant coach Raymond Mdaka taking up the position of interim head coach. DStv Diski Challenge Coach Sly Mosala has completed the technical team, after he turned down the assistant position earlier when they initially hired him.
Club Chairman Abram Sello says:
“I believe that Malesela and his team have done their best, however, the results show that it’s time to reflect and come up with different tactics. Losing games takes its toll mentally, physically and emotionally.
“Therefore, this opportunity will allow for the technical team to re-energize and come back with improved strategies. Unfortunately, we don’t have the luxury of pausing football games during this period, and therefore we have an interim technical team taking the reins for now. I trust my players and I know that they will continue to strive for wins and make myself and our supporters proud.
“Meanwhile, new signings are in process, details will be announced once contracts have been finalised. “Our aim is to continually beef up and build a team with great talent who will help take Gallants to new heights,” Sello conveyed in the club’s official statement on the matter and on the changes occurring at DStv Premiership club, Marumo Gallants.
