Roger De Sa has been coy on his next possible destination amidst negotiations that will take place over the weekend.
Carlos Queiroz and Roger De Sa’s contracts with Iran ended after they led them at the FIFA World Cup in Qatar. Before this, De Sa and Queiroz managed Egypt, where they just missed out on qualification for the World Cup, after losing in a penalty shootout to Senegal.
Queiroz and De Sa’s next venture may have already been lined up, with Queiroz allegedly set to be confirmed as China’s new manager according to Chinese reports, but to our knowledge it might not be as done a deal as first thought.
Chinese media however have now said that Queiroz’s announcement is imminent after he and his staff apparently agreed on terms with the Chinese FA.
According to Chinese news outlet, c.m.163.com
“Queiroz and his staff have accepted the offer of the Chinese Football Association to coach the national team of the country and are going to take the path of coaching this Asian team.”
A week ago, De Sa confirmed the interests from countries such as Qatar, USA against Iran and as mentioned China. The former Bidvest Wits and Orlando Pirates mentor at the time said that they were weighing up their options and would in due course pick where to go next.
“I’ll know in the next 48 hours exactly where I’m going or not going,” Roger De Sa told Thisisfootball.Africa.
“I should fly out this weekend for negotiations, and hopefully be back next week to pack, if agreed.”
