Dominic Isaacs: He’ll be a hero if he beats Chiefs

Former Kaizer Chiefs defender Dominic Isaacs believes that new AmaZulu head coach Romain Folz, will be a hero if he manages to beat Kaizer Chiefs.

Amakhosi will clash with Usuthu for the second leg of the MTN 8 semi-final, at the Moses Mabhida stadium on Sunday Afternoon.

“They need to take the pressure off the coach, senior players like Billiat and Dolly, we expect more from them. The organisation needs to be better if they want to beat AmaZulu, cutting out the scrappy goals that they’ve conceded for example against Chippa and TS Galaxy will give them a better chance of winning games.”

Last time out the pair played to a stalemate at the FNB Stadium, with Gabadinho Mhango getting the first goal for AmaZulu, but it was crossed off by Keagan Dolly to create an incredible spectacle this weekend.

“If the coach of Usuthu takes them to the final, he’ll be a hero. He will be an even bigger hero because it’s Chiefs. Amazulu have got an experienced team, more experience than youngsters. But do they have the legs to match Chiefs is the question. I do think Chiefs have got a lot going forward, it’s just a matter of time before things come together with Arthur Zwane. I believe in what he is trying to implement, he just needs time, but in South Africa that time is not always given. One of the problems at Kaizer Chiefs is having a stable goalkeeper behind you. Changing the keeper too much breaks downs the chemistry in defence, because that harmony needs to be built. If you wear that Amakhosi jersey, you need to have a different mentality, that is willing to carry the team no matter what.”
