The Kensington-Express Craig Martin move to Orlando Pirates from Cape Town City is a done deal a close source has confirmed. The speedster has been on the Buccaneers radar since 2020 but was put off by the asking price of R45 million.
The 29-year-olds switch to the Soweto Giants comes at a time when “Dugga” has found time on the pitch limited recently, heading into the twilight of his career. At times it was weird that he was not used as an option close to the end of the enforced World Cup break.
The former Glendene United player in the ABC Motsepe league can play anywhere down the right flank, with his greatest attribute being his work rate and the amount of times he can press the opponent for long spells during the game.
“Craig Martin to Orlando Pirates is 100 percent done, it was a transfer,” said a close source to the Hartleyvale-based club.
