AmaZulu FC head coach Romain Folz has sent a strong message to Orlando Pirates after knocking Kaizer Chiefs out of the MTN8 on Sunday afternoon. Usuthu reached the final through their away goal advantage, which was scored by Gabadinho Mhango in the first leg earlier this month.
The Durban-based side held Amakhosi to a goalless draw in front of a vibrant Moses Mabhida Stadium. This will be Amazulu’s first final since 2010 as they join Orlando Pirates, who thumped Mamelodi Sundowns on Saturday, in the quest for cup final glory.
Speaking to the media after the game, Folz emphasized that Ezimnyama Ngenkani are not better than his side.
“It’s gonna be a tough game, it’s a very good team, just like Chiefs is a very good team,” he said in his post-match press conference.
“But at the end of the day, if you want me to tell you that we think they are better than us or something like that, no, we’re absolutely not scared of them or any team that you put in front of us.
“So, just bring whoever you want, we’ll give our best, whether it’s Pirates or whether it’s whoever it happens that we play in the final, they will give their best, we will give our best and see who wins.”
The final will be played on the 5th of November, at the very same Moses Mabhida Stadium where the KwaZulu-Natal side eliminated the Glamour Boys.
