Former SuperSport Midfielder finds New Home

Guily Manziba's work permit is sorted and can now join AmaZulu.

A former SuperSport United midfielder, Guily Manziba, who left Matsatsantsa earlier in the month, has found a new home at AmaZulu.

Having failed to make an appearance at the Tshwane-based side during the 2022/23 season, after he was halted by injury, Manziba decided to part ways with the club for an opportunity to rekindle his career elsewhere.

The 26-year-old Kinshasa born player only made 28 appearances in total over three seasons at Matsatsantsa of which 16 were starts. However, the midfielder has impressed AmaZulu coach Romain Folz and is set to join Usuthu. A close source says it’s a two-year contract with an option of a further year.

The versatile winger represented Zanaco FC in the CAF Confederations Cup, and scored three goals, which ultimately attracted SuperSport United to acquire his services. But things didn’t go well for him at the three-time PSL champions, as form and injury hampered his time at SuperSport. All in all. The Congolese player was unable to score a single goal throughout his stay at SuperSport.

AmaZulu were not the only club interested in Manziba, with a team based in Gauteng based also showing an interest too, as well as Stellenbosch FC.
