In a turn of events, it seems like the Thamsanqa Gabuza deal with Stellenbosch has hit a dead end. With Steve Barker confirming that the deal may not materialise.
“Apparently, that doesn’t seem likely, unfortunately,” Steve Barker told the media in attendance at the Danie Craven Stadium, where Stellenbosch FC came back from 2 goals down to beat their rivals 3-2 in a pulsating Cape Derby.
SuperSport were going to release Gabuza, whom Coach Gavin Hunt had allegedly already confirmed was not in his plans and gave the club the go ahead to listen and look for the clubs that where interested in signing the former Pirates man.
As previously reported, the club management wanted to keep Gabuza untill the end of the season, but Stellenbosch FC came looking and didn’t want to wait because of where they found themselves on the league table.
But after their emphatic performance at home in beating Cape Town City, and doing it with the young guns, does this mean that Coach Barker will continue to believe in players like Devon Titus. Who arguably had one of the best performances of his career, coming up with a timely brace, in one of the best DStv Premiership games of the season.
