Former Bafana Bafana coach Jomo Sono has made the prediction of who’s going to lift the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
We are already seven matches away from the end of the global soccer showpiece with quarterfinals set to take place in the upcoming weekend before the semifinals and final come about.
Sono, who was in the dugout when Bafana took part in the 2002 World Cup, says the “unstoppable” Brazil will win the competition.
The former footballer stated that Brazil are too much to handle and the teams can’t plan for them.
“My money is on Brazil,” Sono told ThisIsFootball.Africa
“If you look at that team, except [Thiago] Silva at the back, the rest are the youngsters.
“If you look at that team from the midfield to upfront, they can all score goals.
“So if you’re planning, who you’re going to plan for? Who are you going to mark?
“With Neymar back from injury, it’s going to make things worse for teams.
“Tell me one team that can stop them, because even their bench can’t be stopped.”
On Friday, 9 December, Brazil will play the first quarterfinal against the 2018 finalists Croatia who have conceded just two goals so far.
The second match of the day will see Argentina taking on Netherlands in what is expected to be an enthralling clash.
Meanwhile, on Saturday, 10 December, the only African country left in the World Cup, Morocco will be up against Portugal in the first match of the day.
Thereafter, the world champions France will continue their title defence when they square off with the 1966 winners England.
