Former Kaizer Chiefs captain, Willard Katsande has lauded Orlando Pirates’ Miguel Timm’s heroics after his national senior team debut.

Katsande believes that in the modern game, a defensive midfielder like Timm, who runs with his engine on full blast for the full 90 minutes, will not only help Pirates but also the national team.

The Buccaneers’ fan favourate player was an instrumental weapon among Bafana players, in their comeback 2-1 win over Mozambique in a friendly match on Thursday.

The 30-year-old holding midfielder, has also been doing well at the Soweto giants since he arrived at the beginning of the season from Marumo Gallants, helping the team to lift the MTN8 trophy.

Katsande who was one of the Premiership’s leading defensive midfielders for a decade, has praised Timm, and hopes he will keep his consistency.

“He’s bringing a new dimension to the game and to the team, interestingly he is the newcomer, so far said, he is doing well,” Katsande told ThisIsFootball.Africa.

“Let’s hope he continues to do well. He is good for his respective teams, he’s good for competition in the league, and he is good for the national team. I think he has the right frame of mind. He fits perfectly in a big team like Orlando Pirates, and he is surrounded by quality players at Pirates and in the national team.”
