Kaizer Chiefs fan favourite, Itumeleng Khune is out of the Carling Black Label Cup, which is taking place at FNB stadium on the 12th of November 2022.
Khune, who led the votes with 170 000 supporters wanting his inclusion, is out with a knee tendon issue. In another blow Chiefs striker, Bonfils-Caleb Bimenyimana is also ruled out with a groin injury.
The first game will be between Mamelodi Sundowns and AmaZulu on Saturday morning at 9:30am, followed by a midday Soweto derby clash of Orlando Pirates and Kaizer Chiefs.
Those supporters who voted for the pair, will be refunded, and will be given another opportunity to vote for the players that are fit and up for selection. The third place play-off kicks off at 15:30, while the final starts at 17:00.
