Latest News Round-Up: Is Chiefs Saile The Real Deal?

Christian Saile Basomboli made his much anticipated Kaizer Chiefs debut.

Kaizer Chiefs finally broke Royal AM’s spell of dominance over them with a 2-0 at Peter Mokaba Stadium.

Goals from Sifiso Hlanti and Ashley Du Preez were enough for Amakhosi to end their three-match losing streak, easing pressure on their coach, Arthur Zwane.

While Kaizer Chiefs supporters were over the moon with the win, it was Christian Saile Basomboli’s much-anticipated debut that was the talk of the night.

Saile made an immediate impact with his explosive speed, registering an assist for the second goal, netted by Du Preez.

Here are some of the fans’ reactions to Saile:

“That guy we are going far with him, he reminds me of Knowledge Musona with a little bit of Abia Nale,” Jonas Jonty Sekhobo.

“Let’s give him more [than] 5 matches, we were once convinced that Caleb is a good player,” Katlego Forxee.

“We can sell Caleb now,” was a prompt comment by Embo Uphelo Ndzondza.

Will Dzvukamanja stay at Bucs?

Terrence Dzvukamanja’s name was amongst those expected to be offloaded by Orlando Pirates, with the likes of Peprah and Eva Nga.

But the two goals he scored recently might have done enough to buy him more time to try and impress the Orlando Pirates technical team.

“Well, there’s a possibility that Terrence might remain at Pirates. He has been in the match day squad for the team this year, and the team might keep him,” his agent, Mike Makaab told Farpost.

If Dzvukamanja stays, competition will be fierce for starting places up front at Pirates, with Evidence Makgopa, Zakhele Lepasa, Kermit Erasmus, Dzvukamanja as well as Marou all vying for positions.

Hopefully, with more competition, more goals will come from the striking department.

Die Hond was in a mean mood, more to come from him?

Ofentse Mongae, Sphiwe Mahlangu, and Nkosikhona Radebe scored the other three goals.

Galaxy coach, Sead Ramovic must be a happy man. His side had only managed one goal in their last five matches, with nine goals in the league overall.

Ighodaro to return to Sundowns?

Etiosa Ighodaro just can’t stop scoring.

Mamelodi Sundowns loanee, Etiosa Ighodaro scored his 7th league goal of the season for Chippa United when they beat Maritzburg United 1-0.

The Nigerian forward is amongst a troop of Mamelodi Sundowns loanees who are stretched across the Dstv Premiership.

While a lot of them might never return to Downs at all, Ighodaro’s exploits in Chippa United’s colors have put him in a good position to be called back home by Rulani Mokwena.

Sundowns wants only the best in their team, and Ighodaro is a top striker.
