Latest News Round-Up: Will The Kerr Magic Save Gallants?

Dylan Kerr has joined Marumo Gallants on a consultancy basis.

Marumo Gallants coach Dan Malesela and Technical Director Harris Choeu placed on Special Leave.

Following their 2-0 defeat to Orlando Pirates, and a string of poor results, bottom-of-the-table side Marumo Gallants have put coach Dan Malesela and technical director, Harris Choeu on special leave.

“I believe that Malesela and his team have done their best, however, the results show that it’s time to reflect and come up with different tactics. Losing games takes its toll mentally, physically, and emotionally.

“Therefore, this opportunity will allow for the technical team to re-energize and come back with improved strategies.

“Unfortunately, we don’t have the luxury of pausing football games during this period, and therefore we have an interim technical team taking the reins for now.

“I trust my players and I know that they will continue to strive for wins and make myself and our supporters proud,” said Gallants Chairman, Abram Sello.

Dylan Kerr, who has made a name for himself by saving relegation-threatened clubs, has been appointed on a consultancy basis.

He will work closely with an interim coach, Raymond Mdaka, who is the club’s assistant coach.

Junior Khanye on Christian Saile Basomboli’s debut.

“It looks like he could be a bit better than Bimenyimana,” Khanye said on iDiskiTV.

“There’s something that we’ve seen today. We have seen a couple of times where he created a goal, credit to the guy.

“We cannot talk much about him when we haven’t really seen him. We can’t say he is bad and stuff because we haven’t seen his other moves, but can we see more consistency.

“There are still enough games for us to see him.

“Today, he came in and created a goal, he made some runs where he had a shot. Even though he missed the target he was able to create space for those shots.

“So we want to see more of him. Now we can’t really comment about him because we haven’t seen him.

“We can’t say he is bad when we have seen clips of him. We want to see more of him. We want to see his quality.”

Makhehleni Makhaula to join Orlando Pirates before the transfer window closes tonight?

It seems like Orlando Pirates are pulling all the stops to have their man, Makhehleni Makhaula join them as soon as possible.

The 33-year-old midfield hard man has not played for Usuthu in their last two games, with a minor ‘injury’ reported to be the reason for his absence.

“So he was supposed to be there last time, but he went into some sprint to check his injury, and he was still feeling it,” Amazulu F.C coach, Folz, told the media.

“He has less pain now, so we should expect him to be back anytime soon.”

There seems to be more to Makhehleni’s absence than ‘injury’, and we might see him joining his new club sooner than expected.
