PSG duo Lionel Messi and Sergio Ramos are skeptical of teammate and French sensation Kylian Mbappe, according to the reports. This comes off the back of the 23-year-old World Cup winner wanting to leave the Club after feeling ‘betrayed’ by its hierarchy.
Mbappe is said to be unhappy with PSG not fulfilling the promises they made to the player when he signed a new three-year contract in May this year. The forward went public with his dissatisfaction at being used as the French giant’s main striker, and not being allowed to roam freely, feeding off another forward in a two-man strike force.
Furthermore, Mbappe was disappointed in the sects that have emerged in the PSG dressing room, particularly the group with Messi and Neymar, who Mbappe has been beefing with for much of the past few months. The Frenchman is believed to be part of a group with former Real Madrid stars Sergio Ramos and Achraf Hakimi.
However, it seems as if Hakimi is Mbappe’s only ally as the Daily Mail report that Ramos and Messi have both become skeptical of the Monaco academy graduate.
The former El Clasico rivals have supposedly grown closer due to their mutual distaste towards Mbappe, who are among the host of PSG players that secretly hoped the forward made the switch to Real Madrid in the summer.
A source close to the Club said: “We hear the club some complaints within the club about his ego, (him) increasingly feeling that he is around looking for everything to be his way. Even some people last summer was expressing privately they were happy if he went to Madrid as things in the club would be easier.”
PSG’s Qatari owners are looking for between £350-£400million for Mbappe, which would make him far-and-away the most expensive player in football history. However, the Club’s hierarchy have quickly come out and denied the reports, stating the player hasn’t spoken about a move ‘in January.’
“Mbappe has never told me or Nasser Al Khelaifi that he wants to leave PSG in January,” said PSG director of football Luís Campos. “Is Mbappe happy here? You should ask him, it’s a serious question. I see him working as a top professional.” There is certainly a major rift between Mbappe and PSG, who’ve remained coy in this situation. It’s very difficult to imagine a club forking out a world-record transfer fee in January, meaning this could be the beginning of another long saga involving the Frenchman.
