Thembinkosi Lorch has returned to training with Orlando Pirates.
The Orlando Pirates fan favorite returns together with goalkeeper, Richard Ofori and Miguel Timm.
While Ofori and Timm’s return from injury, as well as the possible debut appearance for Cameroonian forward, Souaibou Marou got the Buccaneers excited, it was Lorch’s name that grabbed the headlines.
Some supporters, especially those who worship the ever injured attacking midfielder will be excited by his return, others could not care less.
“The Lorch issue is tiring” BolediTxa simply replied one supporter on iDiski Times’ tweet.
“Ey to HELL with this guy man…YESES!” wrote Candy Leigh on Goal.com journalist, Austin Ditlhobolo’s Facebook page.
Many other supporters have expressed their frustrations with Lorch on various media platforms.
Lorch, who last played for Pirates on the 21st of August 2022, only has five appearances under his name this season.
His best season for Amabhakaniya was the 2018/19 edition, when he managed thirty-four appearances in all competitions, scoring eleven goals, assist with seven assists.
In that season, Nyoso won both the player of the season, as well as the players player of the season awards.
His star was rising and a lot was expected from him, both for club and country.
As he became a household name, the 29-year-old’s career slowly went on a downward spiral, with injuries and behavioral issues taking center stage instead of his dazzling skills on the pitch.
There have been questions in the football fraternity about Lorch’s commitment to the game and his club.
With everything that has happened with him over the past seasons, those who question his commitment may be justified.
There have also been persistent rumors linking him with a move away from Orlando Pirates, the most recent one involving Pitso Mosimane’s Al Ahli Saudi.
Rumors and assumptions aside, only Lorch and those who handle his football matters know exactly what is happening.
But whatever it is, it is not doing his once-promising career any good.
At the age of 29, time is not on Nyoso’s side.
Perhaps, at this moment, when Orlando Pirates are going through a revival under Jose Riveiro, is the right time for Lorch to reassure Amabhakaniya of his commitment.
