Maart’s Key Role At Chiefs

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Yusuf Maart, scored a wonderful long range goal to win the Soweto Derby for Chiefs on Saturday. Ex Chiefs defender Dominic Isaacs has pointed out a key role Maart is playing for Chiefs this season. A completely different role to when he first coached this very player at Cape Umoya in the first division.

” I know Yusuf(Maart), I coached him for about two, three seasons at Cape Umoya and George Matlou also, but Yusuf is getting to a level where he can hold his own in the PSL,” Dominic told This Is Football. Africa.

“He mustn’t take his foot off the pedal, he must just continue what he is doing. He can even do better if you play him as a 10, his creativity, his vision, his ability to shoot with both feet. I used him as a 10 at Umoya. For sure he can play better, Zwane has been playing him in a deeper role, because Arthur sees him as somebody that’s good in build up play, link up and not lose possession. His best position is as a number 10. But obviously each and every coach has an opinion as to how he views his players”.
