An AmaZulu FC source has rubbished reports that Sphesihle Maduna is a troubling player that they want to let go of. The source claimed that these reports are incorrect because Maduna is happy and has continued to train as per normal with the rest of the squad.
The AmaZulu graduate has only made nine appearances in the league so far, scoring and assisting one goal in the process. He has somewhat lost his way after showing early promise after being promoted at 18. Maduna started his development at Lamontville Golden Arrows, before being scouted by Ayanda Mkhize during the 2015 Salga games.
Usuthu have also said that Makhehleni Makhaula is still their player despite recent reports that the player has signed a pre-contract with Orlando Pirates. The club went on to add that they are fully aware that his contract is running down and will negotiate a new deal shortly. However, this does not preclude the player from already signing a pre contract deal with Pirates or any other club for that matter.
For now, it seems like Amazulu may have lost their 33-year-old captain to the Buccaneers, a mainstay who has racked up 17 appearances this season. With Makhaula heading into the twilight of his career, a big move to Pirates is going to be hard for him to resist. Don’t be surprised if it is not already a done deal?
