Malesela’s Job On the Line?

Dan Malesela’s job at Gallants could be on the line depending on the result against Golden Arrows. Marumo Gallants recently appointed former Amatuks technical member, Sly Mosala, who also worked at Sekhukhune United in 2020 but joined Gallants a couple of weeks back as DStv Diski Challenge mentor. He was said to have been offered the assistant coach role but turned it down.

Our source said Mosala may be elevated to lead the first team as interim coach if Dan Malesela loses to Golden Arrows and gets axed. The club are apparently concerned about the bad run under Coach Malesela, hence the reason why talks have already taken place of him possibly exiting the club following defeats to Maritzburg United and Richards Bay FC.

Obviously, Gallants seriously want to avoid the drop and put the poor run since the return from the World Cup to an end. The club has only registered a single point away to AmaZulu and haven’t won a single game in six. Losing against clubs that were in the danger zone whilst at home, has subsequently resulted in a meeting within the club between management, chairman and the technical team. They felt the best way was to get everyone involved and that teamwork was the best way forward.

What we do know.

If Marumo Gallents fall short against Lamontville Golden Arrows, it could be Dan ‘Dance” Malesela’s last.
