A reunion between Maritzburg United and Judas Moseamedi is on the cards after the attacker was released by Stellenbosch on Tuesday. This was confirmed by Stellies via their website that both parties have mutually agreed to part ways on a mutual consent.
“Stellenbosch can confirm that we have come to a mutual agreement with Judas Moseamedi for early termination of his contract. Judas scored six goals in 32 appearances during his time at the club. We thank Judas and wish him well,” Stellenbosch confirmed in a club statement.
Prior to leaving Stellenbosch, Moseamedi was spotted training with PSL newbies Richards Bay, but he has since resurfaced at Maritzburg United.
“Judas Moseamedi is training with Maritzburg United since it was known from last week that he will be released by Stellenbosch. The Charmain of Maritzburg United admires the boy a lot hence he has been given a chance to train with the club,” the ThisIsFootball.Africa source confirmed.
The Team of Choice have already started wielding their axe after it has been reported that Given Mashikinya and Lucky Baloyi are on their way out of the team.
Indications are that the KZN-based side is taking a new direction under the newly appointed head coach Fadlu Davids who is keen to build his own competitive team.
With Maritzburg struggling to make a real impression in front of goals in the DStv Premiership, Davids could be looking to bring in Moseamedi to beef up the strike force. Maritzburg are currently rooted at the bottom of the league after collecting only 11 points after 13 games played so far this season.
The 2018 Nedbank Cup finalists have only won two games and drawn five while losing on six occasions. The club hold the worst defensive record in the league after conceding a whopping 19 goals.
Maritzburg United return to the league action seeking for redemption on the 30th of December at Harry Gwala Stadium against TS Galaxy after the conclusion of the ongoing 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar.
