Mason Greenwood Arrested Again

Man United forward Mason Greenwood

Manchester United forward Mason Greenwood has been arrested again for allegedly breaching the terms of his bail.

The United academy graduate was first arrested on suspicion of rape and assault in January this year and hasn’t made an appearance for the Red Devils since. Furthermore, Greenwood was also interrogated about accusations of him making threats to kill.

21-year-old Greenwood wasn’t charged and was released on bail soon after. The one-capped England International had his bail extended in June, after it was due to expire in April.

However, BBC reports that another arrest was made on Saturday at the player’s home in Bowdon, Greater Manchester. Greenwood was taken into custody after the local authorities were made aware of an alleged breach of the player’s bail stipulations. The reports were then confirmed by a representative of the Greater Manchester Police force.

Greenwood was included in Man United’s squad list that they’re required to submit to the Premier League each season. But the latest instalments of his off-field issues does not bode well for his future.

The forward had all his sponsorship deals rescinded immediately following the breaking news regarding the allegations in January, with Nike no longer associating themselves with Greenwood, and EA Sports also removing the player from the FIFA 22 game.

Greenwood is unlikely to feature for Man United in the foreseeable future.
