Morgan Mamila Calls on SAFA to Fire Hugo Broos and Give Mosimane The Job

Chippa United coach Morgan Mamila

Chippa United coach Morgan Mamila has suggested that SAFA should fire coach Hugo Broos and bring Pitso Mosimane back to lead the nation.

Bafana Bafana have been failing regularly since 2010. They have failed to qualify for the world’s elite tournament since then, and the only AFCON that Bafana have qualified for in recent times has been the 2019 AFCON in Egypt, where they lost to Nigeria in the quarterfinals.

South Africa failed to qualify for the African Cup of Nations last year after losing 2-0 at the hands of Sudan, before they were dumped out of the World Cup Qualifiers under Broos after losing 1-0 to Ghana.

Mamila, who had started his coaching career this season at Chippa United, says that Mosimane and Steve Komphela can turn the Bafana fortunes around.

“Come home @TheRealPitso. We want to go back to the old Bafana Bafana. We are tired of excuses now.” Mamila tweeted.

“Pitso must take over from now and be assisted by Steve (Komphela).

Mamila went on to say that the 70-year-old Belgian mentor, who took over the reins from Molefe Ntseki last year, should be dismissed—saying a South African coach must take over.

“Only young and local national team coaches will do well in their own  country. The 70 years old pensioner must stay at home,” suggested Mamila.

“We must not be shy to copy what is working for the national team of Morocco and other African countries who were in the World Cup.”
