Pitso Mosimane the Al Ahli Saudi FC coach and former Mamelodi Sundowns mentor has been full of praise for Morocco’s head coach, Walid Regragui for reaching World Cup semifinals.
Regragui, 47, has led the Moroccan team to their first-ever World Cup semifinals after a disciplined performance to secure a narrowly 1-0 over the Portugal in the quarterfinals.
Morocco have only conceded one goal and scored five goals in the tournament, and they have beaten Belgium and Spain in the process to reach this level.
The Atlas Lions have also become the first African team to reach this stage in this tournament and Mosimane believes that Regragui has proved that the whole continent can do better in global football.
“Walid (Regragui), thank you for putting all of Africa on the Global Map,” tweeted the three times CAF Champions League winner.
“Thank you for educating most of our Federations in our beloved continent that we have potential, and we got wiser, and we know a lot about global football, and we can compete with any country if we plan properly.”
Regragui and his troops will now have to prepare to face the defending champions, France on Wednesday, who beat England 2-1 to reach the semifinals.
