The Motsepe Foundation Championship continued on Saturday afternoon as the relegation-threatened Pretoria Callies played Tshakhuma Tsha Madivhandila in Thohoyandou. At the end of a heated contest, the visitors escaped with three hard-earned points after a 1-0 win.
Callies are still at the bottom of the Championship table despite their win, as they are now two points behind Venda Football Academy.
Saturday’s matches included NB La Masia and Baroka, and the home side were too strong for Bakgakga, as they hammered them by a 4-2 score line and moved up to 12th spot on the table in the process.
Black Leopards and Cape Town Spurs were also in action at Malamulele stadium, and the Cape Town side came out victorious as they narrowly beat Lidoda Duvha 1-0 at home.
Magesi also took a home ground advantage, when they collected maximum points at home after a 1-0 win over All Stars at the Peter Mokaba Stadium. Magesi, however still remains tenth on the table, tied in 16 points with TTM.
