MTN8 Preview: AmaZulu & Chiefs Line-Ups Confirmed

AmaZulu and Kaizer Chiefs have announced their starting XIs for today’s MTN8 encounter in Durban.

Chiefs and AmaZulu could not be separated over 90 minutes of an entertaining 1-1 first leg of their MTN8 semifinal at FNB Stadium earlier this month.

Now the two teams meet again this afternoon at the Iconic Moses Mabidha Stadium for the second leg, entering the game at  1-1.

AmaZulu have not had it all their own way in the DStv Premiership this season, already having  lost four of their 11 games, and haven’t won a match in the past five games.

Meanwhile, Amakhosi are also not in a good form as they have lost two of their last five matches, including a shock 2-1 home defeat to Chippa United last Saturday.

Chiefs and AmaZulu’s record against each other is even in their last five games. The have each won one game and drawn four in the domestic league, including the first leg 1-1 draw in Nasrec.

Newly appointed  Amazulu head coach Romain Folz, who is still looking for his first win in South Africa, will be sitting on the bench and looking to finish the job started in the first leg by the fired Brandon Truter, and will probably come with a much different approach to the game.

Chiefs welcome back their leading goalscorer Caleb Bimenyimana, who was unavailable in their last league match, after he had picked up an injury last week.

The match is set for 15h30.
