Philani Zulu Hope His Team Continue with Impressive Run

Zulu after he signed for Sekhukhune United

Sekhukhune United left-back Philani Zulu is hoping his side will continue with their impressive form when they welcome Stellenbosch FC on Saturday afternoon.

Zulu joined Sekhukhune six months after he parted ways with AmaZulu. The 30-year-old has been the preferred left-back for the Brandon Truter coached team. He joined Babina Noko on a short-term deal until the end of the season with an option to renew his deal beyond June 2023. The former Amakhosi utility player hopes their victory against Kaizer Chiefs will give them the same momentum in their next game.

“So far so good, the win against Kaizer Chiefs in the past weekend really boosted our morale and we [are] looking forward to take the same energy and try and work more in executing our final third entries,” Zulu said.

As Truter confirmed to ThisIsFootball.Africa last week, Zulu also added that they are working hard to get the right chemistry as a team despite the mistakes they made against Chiefs.

“We just picked up [a] few mistakes [and] all I can say is that the negatives of  the past game, [we] are trying to fix now as we prepare for the Stellenbosch game. Everyone is working hard; we are gelling well together as a team and I’m sure we [will] work towards getting maximum points against Stellenbosch on the weekend.

Moreover, Sekhukhune have won their last two league matches which puts them in a better position in the DStv Premiership. Babina Noko is likely to move into the top eight if they win their league match against Stellies at Danie Craven Stadium.
