New Sekhukhune United signing Philani Zulu has made promise to the club after inking a deal with them.
The versatile Zulu was signed by Babina Noko alongside the defender Mzwanele Mahashe. Both players were free agents after they were released by their previous clubs.
Zulu parted ways with AmaZulu at the end of last season while Mahashe was also offloaded by TS Galaxy in June.
The former Kaizer Chiefs man has promised to be of help in moving the Limpopo-based club away from the relegation zone.
“I’ll do my best to add my value as much as I possibly can,” Zulu told Sekhukhune United media.
“And to make sure that I pull along with the team.
“It’s going to take time to learn the culture of the team but I’m ready as a player to be part of the team in the best way possible.
“Looking at the team, with the quality that the team has, it’s much more of a surprise to see that they are in this position that they are in.
“But the way things are going so far, the preparations for the season ahead, continuing playing more games, I’m sure and positive that a lot of good things are coming towards the team.”
Sekhukhune recently sacked Kaitano Tembo who was their head coach and replaced him with Brandon Truter who parted ways with AmaZulu in October.
Zulu will be reuniting with the Cape Town-born tactician after they spent three months at the Durban-based club.
Sekhukhune currently occupy the 15th spot in the DStv Premiership standings having collected 11 points in 12 games.
Truter and Zulu will face their former employers on 31 December when Sekhukhune United take on Usuthu in the league game.
The match will be held at the Sekhukhune’s backyard Peter Mokaba Stadium at 17:30.
