Orlando Pirates have been dealt with a blow of the absence of one of their key players, ahead of the Soweto derby clash against Kaizer Chiefs at FNB Stadium on Saturday.
Pirates have enjoyed a rich vein of form in recent times, which saw them claim back-to-back victories in all competitions.
The Buccaneers claimed an impressive 2-0 defeat against Golden Arrows in the league, before brushing aside Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0 in the MTN8 second leg semi-final at Peter Mokaba Stadium last weekend.
Pirates come to this encounter with their tails high, and they have been touted as favourites to walk away with the derby bragging rights.
However, the Houghton-based outfit have been dealt with a midfield blow, with one of their top performers Miguel Timm, who is suspended after accumulating his fourth yellow card of the season against Sundowns.
Timm joined Pirates at start of the 2022/23 season on a free transfer, after parting ways with Marumo Gallants, and he already turned himself into a regular starter under coach José Reviero.
The 30-year old midfield man made a name for himself in the colours of Gallants, as he helped the team reach the Nedbank Cup final which they subsequently lost to Masandawana.
Timm has featured on 11 occasions for the Happy People after 12 games played so far in the Premiership.
Meanwhile, the Brazilians will miss the services of the wing back Aubrey Modiba, who was sent off against the Sea Robbers.
Modiba watched from the stands when Sundowns bounced back to winning ways as they thrashed Maritzburg United 5-0 at Harry Gwala Stadium on Tuesday evening.
