Ralani’s future hanging in the balance at Sundowns?

Mamelodi Sundowns’ attacker Bradley Ralani’s future is hanging in the balance at the Sundowns, with the player getting into the final months of his contract. Ralani joined Sundowns in January 2021 from Cape Town City on a 18-months deal but he has since struggled to establish himself as a regular starter. The skillful winger was a surprise signing for the Chloorkop-based side given the fact he’s 35-years of age.

The Kimberly-born star has  fallen further down pecking order after Sundowns reinforced their attack with Abubeker Nasir, Marcelo Allende and promoted the highly-rated young Cassius Mailula from their DStv Diski Challenge side.

Under Rhulani Mokwena, Sundowns have seemingly taken a bold approach to play with a relatively youthful squad. After what was deemed unconvincing start to the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season, Masandawana made technical tweaks which ended the co-coaching set up that was adopted by the team for the past two seasons.

With Ralani being frozen out of the match day squad since the beginning of the season, indications are that the club may be keen to let him go when his contract expires.

In the current campaign, Ralani has managed to make five appearances in the league and only found the back of the net once.

Meanwhile, Sundowns have won nine games, drawing once while losing three time and they sitting comfortably at the summit of the log after after 12 games played so far.

The DStv Premiership will resume on the 30th of December after taking an early mid-season break due to the on-going FIFA World Cup which is staged in Qatar.
