SA U23’ In Togo

The South African Under 23 Men’s national team arrived in Togo on Friday, going into their clash against the West Africans for the Morocco 2023 AFCON Second Round qualifier.

Head Coach David Notoane has a tough task of qualifying, especially given the fact that Vela Khumalo’s Under 20 team failed in their division.

“Everything is looking good, the energy levels of the boys are very, very good as well. In terms of preparations, we have had tactical fine-tuning and we look forward to the final session today with set-plays, tweaking a few things and then finalising our squad for Sunday’s match,” Notoane told SAFA media.

“So far it is looking good, the energy is good, no injuries and a clean bill of health for all the players. The hospitality of the Togolese must also be commended. We have been well-received, well-looked-after and we hope it stays this way until after the game and we do not encounter any problems here.”

The return match between the two sides will be played at Orlando Stadium on the weekend of October 28-30.
