Saddam – Some Chiefs Fans don’t Understand

Chiefs number one fan Saddam Maake believes that some Chiefs fans don’t understand what coach Arthur Zwane is trying to achieve. Zwane, a former Amakhosi winger was given the reins leading up to the 2022/23 DStv Premiership season and has managed to get the team up to fourth place but to date still Chiefs remain inconsistent after 13 games played so far this season.

“At Kaizer Chiefs we support what the management decides, sometimes there are things beyond our control,” Saddam Maake told ThisIsFootball.Africa.

“Arthur is our legend, he is our talisman, he is our coach, he is a young talented coach. I believe he can bring back the glory days, we got our Kappa sponsor back like the old days, so together they will bring back the glory days. What I can see is that he is trying to bring back the style of play from back then, so we must give him a chance. A few fans still don’t understand, fans can change their minds in 30 seconds. When you don’t do well they will boo you, when you score the winning goal they will sing songs about you. If you score they will sing about you and not the coach, there is no permanent enemy. We as supporters must continue to respect the coaches’ decisions, because that’s what we are there to do. You see Junior(Khanye), he will always criticise Kaizer Chiefs but the signs are there with Arthur Zwane, we need to give him time.”

Chiefs have failed to score 43 percent of their chances created away from home but only 17 percent when playing at home. With an average of 10.69 shots taken per match and with a conversion rate of 12 percent.  Statistics that Saddam Maake and his fellow supporters should take heed of.
