Sadio Mane has suffered a right fibula injury at Bayern Munich threatening his chances of making it to Qatar.
Bayern Munich have confirmed Sadio Mane’s injury that could possibly end his chances of playing at the World Cup.
The Senegalese star was seen limping off in a game against Werder Bremen after just 20 minutes, which they went on to win 6-1.
This could be a huge blow for Senegal, one of the African favourites, as Head Coach Aliou Cisse is about to announce the final squad for the FIFA World Cup.
The former Liverpool front man is now in a race against time to be fit, with the injury thought to be just a nerve issue at first and not something that would put his chances in jeopardy.
Senegal will now hold their breath on the fitness of their Premier League and UEFA Champions League winner. Bayern Munich are also in contact with the medical staff of the Sengalese Football Association.
Sadio Mane’s Senegal will start their campaign against the Netherlands on November 21. They also face Ecuador and the host nation Qatar in Group A.
