Sibusiso Vilakazi to leave Gauteng?

Mike Makaab says that Vilakazi is not necessarily destined to play outside of Gauteng

Rumours are flying around that former Mamelodi Sundowns attacking midfielder Sibusiso Vilakazi is likely to leave Gauteng to prolong his football career. However, his agent has shut down those reported such talk.

“That is not necessarily the case for Vila, we don’t want to rush into things,” Mike Makaab told ThisIsFootball.Africa when addressing the rumour that Vilakazi may have to look for a team outside of Gauteng as he searches for a new club after parting ways with TS Galaxy.

“Our offices in Johannesburg are dealing with the matter now, I’m in constant contact with them. The most important thing now is to get Vilakazi back on the field of play.”

It has also come to our attention that SuperSport United head coach Gavin Hunt has ruled out the possibility of signing him due to financial constraints but Vilakazi is rumoured to being linked to AmaZulu and possibly Cape Town City. Whether or not an official approach will be made, remains to be seen.

Both clubs would have to dig deep to land his signature. But Sibusiso would have to assure suitors that he is over his troubling knee and ankle injury to be seriously considered as the player that he once was during his early days at Bidvest Wits and Mamelodi Sundowns .

When he spoke to us the player confirmed being injury free and wanting to extend his playing days as a professional footballer.
