The former Maswaiswai player signed for Swallows FC in September 2020 alongside now assistant coach at the club Musa Nyatama, current Royal AM striker Ruzaigh Gamildien and Moeketsi Makhanya, formerly of JDR Stars in the second tier. These players among others would form part of the new look Swallows since their promotion to the top flight.
Daniel Gozar joined the Dube Birds after being on the books of Free State Stars where he shone brightly and was a consistent goal scorer, with 12 goals and 6 assists in 23 matches for Free State Stars in the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
The stocky marksman had been signed by Stars from the Ghanaian Premier League side Ashanti Gold in July 2019. The forward was also sent out on loan on the 12th of August 2021 to Black Leopards, for one season before returning to the Birds nest.
The latest reaching our desk is that striker Gozar has had his contract terminated and has sought legal intervention. The Ghanaian still had a year and half when new coach Ernst Middendorp made the decision that he had surplus his requirements.
When initially seeking a comment from the Swallows FC camp, they had no idea that Daniel Gozar was in the process of sending them to the PSL DRC.
“I haven’t received a response,” said the Swallows FC’s media liaison.
The Dube Birds have faced several cases within the PSL Dispute Resolution Chamber (DRC), and due to the non-payment of players in the past regime, Swallows were unable to sign new players having been banned by FIFA, but were relieved from that penalty just before the last closing of the past transfer window.
Now it looks like a new case is coming forth, with new ramifications.
