Orlando Pirates legend, and one of the finest midfielders to ever grace Mzansi’s football fields, Tebogo Moloi is excited by the prospects of the current Orlando Pirates side.
He went as far as comparing Jose Riveiro’s side to one of the greatest Orlando Pirates teams of the past in terms of attacking prowess.
“This Orlando Pirates team reminds me of the side that featured the likes of myself, the late Bashin Mahlangu, and Pio Nogueira,” Moloi told ThisIsFootball.Africa.
“If you look at the current Orlando Pirates team, with Saleng on top of his game, with Pule, Ndlondlo, Erasmus and Lorch having come back from injury, Bucs have a strong attacking team, and then you have Ben Motshwari sitting behind them, you have a great attacking team.”

He believes that all the current crop of players needs is to be reminded of the importance of the badge on their shirts, and what it means to the millions of Orlando Pirates die hard supporters.
“They just need someone who can sit down with them and remind them of the importance of the Orlando Pirates badge.
“Someone who can have deeper conversations with them, and ask them why they are at Orlando Pirates, someone who can ask them why they are the chosen ones,” he added.
Moloi says a player like Erasmus is a great assert for Amabhakaniya.
“A player like Erasmus is important for the club, not only in terms of scoring goals, but for his leadership qualities as well, he is like a captain even without wearing an arm belt, he has the ability to play the same role Benni McCarthy played when he was with the club.”
He added that the club has everything it needs to go all the way in the Nedbank Cup. He also believes that if they can step their game up, they can give Mamelodi Sundowns a good run for their money next season, and probably their dominance of the Dstv Premiership title.
Amabhakaniya host relegation threatened Maritzburg United tomorrow [Friday the 17th] at Orlando stadium.
