Thabiso Sesane On His Way Back To Orlando Pirates?

Orlando Pirates loanee, Thabiso Sesane had a game of his life against his parent club, Orlando Pirates, on Saturday evening at Wits Stadium.

Although All Stars eventually lost 2-0 against Bucs, Sesane’s performance at the heart of All Stars defense was one of the highlights of the game, his partnership with Baartman helped in keeping the score respectable.

After such a great performance, a return to Orlando Pirates is a huge possibility for the 22-year-old, who had another loan spell with Jomo Cosmos before joining All Stars.

Surely, the youngster has learned enough in the second tier to be able to fight for his place at Bucs.

But how does his coach at All Stars feel about Sesane’s possible return to Orlando Pirates?

“Sesane, we have to be very careful with him, he’s a young boy and he will make mistakes and all that, but he’s been doing well, he’s growing each and every game because he’s humble,” Sinethemba Badela said after their Nedbank Cup loss to Orlando Pirates.

He watches his games over and tries to improve all the time, so we’re helping him and with him staying beyond this season, it will have to be [a talk] between Pirates and All-Stars at the end of the season.

“Of course, we’d like to keep him if there’s a possibility, but if they feel that they need him, there’s nothing we can do but he’s one of the players we’re really proud of and doing very well at the moment, he and Baartman have been amazing for us at center-back.”

Will he get some game time with Bucs?

Orlando Pirates are well covered at the back, with Nkosinathi Sibisi, Thapelo Xoki, Olisa Ndah, and Sandile Mthethwa doing well for the Buccaneers.

Should Thabiso Sesane return next season, he might find himself kicking his heels in the stands, halting his obvious development as a center back.

The best thing that can happen for the youngster, other than a regular berth at Pirates, would be to find a club in the Dstv that is willing to take him on a loan deal.
