Three  players from the Mamelodi Sundowns Ladies team have been included in the 2022 CAF Women’s Champions League team following their remarkable performances in the tournament. It was the second edition of the Women’s Champions League where Banyana Ba Style failed to defend the title they won in 2021.

Masandawana Ladies were crushed 4-0 by the hosts ASFAR Club in the final on Sunday night with the Moroccan club lifting their first Champions League trophy in style in front of their home fans. ASFAR have six players in the “best eleven“ line up, while Bayelsa Queens and Simba Queens have one representative each.

Sundowns ladies veteran defender Bambanani Mbane claimed the centre-back right spot, while the technically-gifted left-footer Boitumelo Rabale took the left centre-midfielder place and Lelona Daweti earned herself a right-winger position.

Jerry Shabalala’s girls still have unfinished business in domestic football, as they have three matches to complete the Hollywoodbets league games. However, they had already won the league title with three games to spare before they jetted off to Morocco.
