The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) president Dana White has launched a scathing attack on football. White stated, among other things, that football is the least talented sport in the world.
The past few weeks have seen the world come together to celebrate the game in the form of the FIFA World Cup. Many fans were skeptical about the tournament being hosted in Qatar, citing human rights issues as well as other societal restrictions in the country as the basis for it to be an underwhelming and unwelcoming six weeks in the Middle-East.
However, many of the fans that were cynical prior to the tournament have had their tune changed by the culture, city and the warmth of the people as many of their preconceptions were put to rest.

Furthermore, the tournament in Qatar has delivered a footballing spectacle, with many surprising results and underdog stories. The things that makes us love the beautiful game.
However, one person who doesn’t think of the game as beautiful is UFC president Dana White.
The UFC is the biggest mixed martial arts promotion in the world, and is valued at around $9-10billion, as per a report done by FanSided. The company have hosted some of the biggest names in the fighting industry, including Khabib Nurmagomedov and Conor McGregor.
White launched a scathing attack on the sport on Wednesday, claiming he ‘can’t stand’ football and that not much talent is required to do well in the field.
“I can’t stand soccer,” said White in a clip that was doing the rounds on social media late on Wednesday. “I think that it’s the least talented sport on Earth.
“There’s a reason that three-year-olds can play soccer. You run around and kick a ball. ‘You wouldn’t say that if you were in Brazil,’ I say this in every country.
“When you’re playing a game when the net is this big and the score is 3-1… Are you sh*tting me right now? Do you know how untalented you have to be to score three points when the net is this big?”
A damning statement from the UFC president, who it seems impossible to get to like the beautiful game. However, this is coming from a man that claims two men/women beating each other to a pulp is beautiful. So I guess it’s all about perception.
But there’s a reason football is the biggest game in the world. It’s real beauty.
