Orlando Pirates had managed to secure a late 1-0 win against SuperSport United at Orlando Stadium on Saturday night.

It was a game that had many key moments as both teams had the chances in the first half. SuperSport United put their foot on the pedal in the 5th minute as Thapelo Maseko broke through the left wing to deliver a cross into the box, however, Paseko Mako cleared the ball.
Despite having their foot off the pedal in the early minutes, Orlando Pirates had a chance to have a shot at goal from former Mamelodi Sundowns player Kermit Erasmus in the 19th minute. However, Thulani Hlatshwayo came to the rescue to block the shot.
The Buccaneers were full of energy as Thembinkosi Lorch delivered a cross from the right wing, however, Goss fisted the ball to the feet of Thabang Monare but struck his shot wide of the goal.
Former Pirates striker Zakhele Lepasa missed a chance in the 38th minute to put SuperSport United in front, however, he could not convert the chance to close off the first half.
Pirates put their foot forward in the second half, with Monnapule Saleng having his shot saved in the 50th minute. A few minutes later in the 56th, captain Maela failed to convert a chance from a Lorch cross.
Another chance went begging for Lepasa as Pirates had a good defensive line to deny the former Pirates striker from pulling a shot.
The best chance came in the 77th minute as Saleng was fouled at the edge of the box. Thapelo Xoki stepped up and slotted home the penalty for the Buccaneers as they walked away with the 1-0 win.
