Kaizer Chiefs Marketing and Commercial Director Jessica Motaung has explained why Amakhosi have moved their three home games to Limpopo.

Amakhosi recently reached an agreement with the Polokwane Municipality to have their three home games staged at the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

The three teams that will have to travel to Polokwane to take on Glamour Boys are Royal AM on 29 January 2023, Golden Arrows on 19 February 2023, and finally Swallows on 2 May 2023.

Motaung says they chose Polokwane because of their huge fan base in the city and the hunger for football from fans around the area.

“As you know, clubs in the PSL are able to have three home grounds,” she said.

“For us obviously FNB Stadium is one of our home grounds, as well as Moses Mabhida Stadium in KZN.

“We would like to play our three home games at our new venue which is the Peter Mokaba Stadium in Polokwane.

“We’re very excited we’re going back to Polokwane, it really is a home away from home.

“We have a huge fan base there, there’s a great hunger for football, for the Chiefs brand to be there.

“We look forward to hosting three games there.”

Motaung went on to send the message to the Amakhosi’s faithful ahead of the DStv Premiership resumption.

“We’re looking forward to the game against Royal AM which is our first game happening at the stadium,” she added.

“I’m just saying to the supporters they should come in numbers, come and enjoy the Chiefs brand.

“Come and enjoy great football, it’s great to have Chiefs back in Polokwane. We’re also looking forward to our game in February against Arrows and our final game in May against Swallows.”
