Kaizer Chiefs coach Arthur “10111” Zwane is unworried about his future at the Soweto giants despite the disappointing results his team has been getting lately.

Since Zwane was appointed as the head coach of Amakhosi in May 2022 the 49-year-old holds a winning record of 47% in the first 15 league matches for Chiefs. His is record is equal to what his predecessor Stuart Baxter achieved last season.

Despite losing back-to-back matches against Sekhukhune United and AmaZulu, Zwane is not worried about his future at Amakhosi, because he believes that it is taken into account as part of the plan the club currently have! The 49-year-old has also asked for patience in order to return Amakhosi to their glory days.

“To be quite honest, I’m not worried because we have a plan as a club – a plan that needs to be executed, and if you look back, for how many years have we been trying to hit the ground running? Did it work for the club? It did not,” said Zwane.

“Whether you like it or not, at the end of the day, we have to do something. There are many other teams that we can make an example of – in Europe, you go to Arsenal right now, why are they doing well?

“Because they have so much patience and belief in whoever they’ve put in there, and by also giving him the opportunity and space to try and work things out. You can see the results for yourself now at Arsenal.

“I don’t want to compare and I’m not saying we can do exactly what Arsenal is doing, but I’m just making an example that, if we know what we are doing, if we have a plan and want to execute the plan, obviously we need time.”

On Saturday, Amakhosi are hosting DStv premiership log leaders Mamelodi Sundowns at FNB Stadium.
